Another great Venison recipe! It’s hearty, spicy and great on a cold winter’s day! One of my favorite ways to use venison hamburger.
Mix in all the ingredients except the meat and onion in a crockpot and then add the browned meat and onion and let simmer all day…..makes the house smell wonderful, your bunch will be ready to eat as soon as they hit the door! Feel free to experiment and add your own favorite spices, you just can’t mess this up!
Ingredients:
2 lb. ground beef or ground venison
1 – Large Chopped Onion
1 – 16 oz Dark Red Kidney Beans
1 – 16 oz Pinto Beans
1 – 16 oz Black Beans
1 – 15 oz Tomato Sauce – if you like it juicer you can use the larger can
1 – 10 oz Rotel Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilis (I use the original, but use whichever one you want)
4 – tablespoons Chili Powder
Jar Sliced Jalapenos – however many you want – we put about 10 in ours
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
Instructions:
Combine meat (2 lbs) and chopped onion (1) into a skillet and cook until meat is browned, if you use venison you probably won’t have to drain it, but if you use beef, you may need to drain it.
While meat is cooking, in the crock pot add the remaining ingredients and stir. Once the meat and onion are done, add them to the crock pot and stir again.
Cook on Low 7-8 hours, or high 4-5 hours until everything is hot and melded together.
We like to serve ours over Fritos to make a wonderful Frito chili pie with shredded cheese and chopped onion on top…but it is great just out of the pot!
