Our Beautiful Family

Hi there! We are the Logston Family and we are so happy you stopped by!

Our story started over 40 years ago when a girl was invited to a Halloween party by a friend and introduced to a boy that was there with another girl.  Two months later the boy asked the girl out and the rest is history.

Fast forward 40 years and two kids, two kids in law and two grandkids later and life just keeps getting better! It helps that we both believe in working hard and playing even harder! In 2018, Smore Living became a reality when we decided to plan to retire early in 2019, putting in notices at work to be able to travel in our RV and spend more time with our family. You will find adventures of us glamping in our fifth wheel with our family and many friends, exploring local small towns, wineries, festivals, lakes and nature.

When we are not off on a new adventure, we are loving life at home! We live in the heartland in Oklahoma City with friendly people and all four seasons.  We fill our time at home writing about products and services that make life better and easier, including the latest tech gadgets, delicious foods (meal prepping), life tips, inspirational quotes, everything RV and how to plan for and enjoy retirement.

Meet Fonda Logston

I am a mother of four amazing grown adults and two beautiful grandchildren.  As I write this, I am winding down a 34 year career in the Information Technology field and looking forward to doing some more (S’more) living!

Mitch and I were high school sweethearts and have been married longer than we were not married.  As I reflect on my life thus far, I realize how much God has watched over me in pretty much every aspect of my life.  Our family is your typical midwestern children of the outdoors.  Though we live in the city, we were pretty much raised around family on small farms in the rural areas of Oklahoma.  Learning to fish and hunt at young ages was just part of life.  How in the world I ended up in IT is a mystery.  In the late 70’s technology was not really something that any normal female would even consider going to school for.  While in high school and being exposed to computers while working in car dealerships I found them both fascinating and fun.  The decision to get a computer science degree lead me to some of the most rewarding work I have done, working for State Government helping citizens in the Health and Human Services area.  But my most rewarding life adventures has been with my beautiful family and the amazing children Mitch and I have raised together.  Writing a blog is definitely going to get me out of my comfort zone, I’ve always said that English is not an IT person’s first language.  Come with me on a journey that is sure to be riddled with grammatical and spelling errors as well as adventures and humor!
