Well, I have had my RoboVac for about 4 months now. Here is the exact model I bought: Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S (Slim). I bought it off Amazon for $179.99 in February of 2019.
Here is my review of it thus far. Before I start with the details, I have to say I like it, not going to say I love it, but it certainly does it’s job and leaves me to do other things. I would buy it again, I guess that is the real test. It is definitely worth the price we paid for it.
Here are the things I do Love about it:
1. It cleans very well, picking up pretty much everything in its path and even going down the baseboards. I dump the collection container about every two times we run it.
2. It leaves me time to do other cleaning chores.
3. It is very quiet.
4. If in the same room, it will find its way back to the charging station and you forget that it was even on.
5. It moves are rather quickly and has good coverage of the entire floor, if you limit the area it is confined in.
6. It cleans behind our recliners, which I’m sure didn’t get done very often before.
7. It cleans both carpet, tile, rugs and wood floors very well.
8. It transitions from wood or tile to rugs very easily.
Here are the things I don’t like so much about it:
1. Because it is so slim, it does try to go under furniture that is not quite tall enough for it, getting hung up at times. We have two places in our living room that I have to put something in front of to block it, so it won’t get hung up. So, it needs a little help sometimes.
2. If you leave shoes with shoestrings or phone cords out where it can get them, it will wind them up in the brushes then stop. So, make sure everything is picked up. Again, this will be the case for any of these vacuums, regardless of how much you paid for it.
Here are the things that it won’t do, but it doesn’t claim to do it, so that shouldn’t surprise you. If you want to pay the extra money, you could get these features in other models, but you are talking about hundreds more.
1. Our Living Room, Hall, Entry and Kitchen are all together, where there are no doors to block any of those off. I would say the four of those areas is about 1,000 square feet. It was too much for it to get all of it in one timeframe. Since this model just goes bumping around, there is no way to have it not go into a room unless you block it off. Our solution was to put a small 1×1 board that is about 5ft long across the kitchen entry. The husband made it for me and it slides easily behind the couch that is against the wall. By doing this, it easily cleans the Entry, Living and Hall Way in one pass and then after it recharges, I put it in the Kitchen.
2. It is not as intelligent as the higher end models, nor does this model claim to be. With that being said, it does the job with just a little help. Meaning, you can’t program it to do just certain areas (I had to use a board to keep it from going in the kitchen).
3. The unit basically just roams around your area and vacuums it until it starts to run dead. Then it will start trying to go back to its station. If it is locked in a room, it will just stop at some point.
4. You can’t schedule it to go off, I know I’ve talked to friends that has theirs on a timer to go off on certain days of the week. I don’t know that I would even use that feature anyway, since you have to make sure the room is clear of anything it might get hung up on like shoestrings and phone cords. I guess if you are good about keeping everything picked up, that could work for you.
